Dave works with acrylics and charcoals on canvas and his work is very textural, the play of light across the surface of the paintings can cause a different experience with each viewing. Dave was born in 1969 and grew up in New Orleans. He received a BA in Fine Arts from the University of New Orleans in 1993 and his MFA from the University of North Dakota in 1998.

His current Invert series of paintings reflect his interest in ambiguous spacial relationships. 24" x 36" and smaller, his paintings are meant to be viewed from upclose. At times the images Dave creates suggest an object in a field of energetic color. At other times one is left to decide if they are looking at a microscopic life-form of some sort. Dave has stated that he prefers the individual viewer to read into his paintings exactly what that viewer wishes...
